First of all, handcrafted jewelry can be much more fascinating than everyday things in any store. The chances of two things being the same or alike are slim to none. I have found this out from personal experience. It is very hard to make two things look exactly alike. The jewelry doesn't look "cheap". The products are of a good quality. Of course, you will have things that will not want to stay together, but for the most part, the jewelry will stay together. Just about everything bought in retail stores will not hold together for a long period of time.

Availability of a variety exists more with handcrafted and artisan jewelry. Two pieces can look similar and be very different at the same time. The imagination is the limit. In stores, some of the jewelry may be hand crafted, but most of it is more than likely using a machine in some way. Do keep in mind that certain things can not be done with a machine. Also, stores use pretty much the same patterns; therefore, every part is the same.

Unlike handcrafted and artisan jewelry, most stores that carry jewelry will all have the same basic pattern. Going with something unique will definitely be worth the investment. It may mean paying more, but, with price comes a better, if not great, quality product.
