Tips for running a successful book club

meeting and call upon people to speak. Your book club meetings will go much smoother and everyone will be less likely to get frustrated.

4. SOCIAL TIME:

A successful book club is more than just discussing the book. It is a chance to get to know other people. Allow a brief social time prior to your meeting. After the meeting, have thirty minutes to an hour that people can chat with one another and socialize. If you conduct your meeting online encourage members to remain in the chat after the meeting. You can even put up a free message board for members to socialize outside of meeting times. If you host the book club from your home, offer snacks and drinks for after the meeting so people will hang around and socialize.

5. ROTATE WHO CHOOSES BOOKS:

Get your members involved in your successful book club. Rotate who picks out the books that will be read. Rotate who host the actual meeting. Ask members to let you know of birthdays, anniversaries and special events in their lives. Have one meeting a month that is just for socializing and getting to know one another without discussing one specific book for the topic. You can even do fun themes for these types of meetings, whether online or face-to-face meetings in your community.

Following these simple tips will make your successful book club the talk of the town and envy of everyone around you. Most importantly your successful book club will the place to that people go to socialize and share their passion for books.
