Essential first aid kit supplies for your home.

This is a pretty easy task, which in case of an emergency will help you to focus and stay calm.

A small see through water proof box, or tackle box works just fine. Personally I prefer the see through type, its easy to identify for anyone.

Now to supply it.

Get a good first aid manual, easy to read, large print.

A good flash light plus extra batteries. I prefer the one you shake.

Pack, again using a small storage container, at least two cups of flour. This will hopefully never be used, it is for excessive bleeding, it helps to coagulate the blood.

You'll need a sharp pair of scissors,
a good pair of tweezers,
an assortment of bandages,
a least one elastic bandage,
medical tape,
antiseptic soap (Dial is an excellent choice, the soft soap),
a good antiseptic cream,
a bottle of peroxide (I prefer iodine),
cotton balls,
cotton swabs,
wash & dry wipes,
a wash rag,
gauze pads variety of sizes,
a cold pack,
a plastic cup, straws and spoons,
and a list plus the dosage of any prescribed medications that any of your family members take, and all emergency numbers, doctors, police, and contacts.

One of the all weather blankets is always nice to have around also.

I also duplicate the above plus these items for my car: a blank cd is good in case your off road and need a signal. Also a good thing is at least two large garbage bags, they can be used for blankets (can be stuffed with leaves, grasses etc), or protection in case of rain, etc.

If I'm camping I like pack these essentials in a small diaper bag!

The Medication card is a good thing to copy and carry in your wallet also.
