Sex on T.V. used to be considered a special event of the night or an eye opener when the side shadow of a breast was shown or too much cleavage revealed. It gave society the sense that they were doing something bad or being a bit on the wild side with their imaginations turning throughout the program. The days of imaginations or naughty secret pleasures or feeling wild for that matter have flushed there way down the censored toilet.
The year of sex has shown its face and as the years go by continue to show the rest of its naked body to anyone who turns on there television set. Unless its the cartoon network or tree house everyone is bound to come into contact with what seems natural to the younger youth, but rather inappropriate to those who thought such images only existed on porno or in their minds. Is such sexual tendencies what the networks thought todays younger audience would enjoy and eat up? Or simply an idea to increase their own sales and any affiliates linked to them.
Sexual innuendos and touching on screen is being seen by millions of children and adolescents without so much as a shudder from the networks because they know that in the long run it is going to benefit them. People can argue the fact that such notions are positive because it gives todays generation more knowledge then even some of there parents could ever give them and is guidance for all of those curious souls out there. The term curiosity killed the cat seems to be appropriate seeing as todays youth know more about sex and how to use it then there elders. It can cause troubled emotions that are acted out because of curiosity and seeing if sex is really the way it is portrayed on t.v. Is it just coincidence that the more sex is shown on television the rate of young pregnancies go up or the new age to have sex is as low as thirteen? Merely children acting out on there curiosities still not knowing that it is exactly wrong because there favorite characters on t.v. have sex every episode or make out and rub each other on the bed without a single worry.
Most adults know that sex is in no way as romantic or cleverly planned out as these episodes but a young teenager just takes in everything they see and then use it to learn for themselves. If television is going to portray sex to such great lengths then maybe they should show masturbation as a more safer way until maturity ripens so that the young pregnancies become less and the learning become less vague to those who tune in every week.
They want to educate todays youth and think that growing up fast and learning more is better, then maybe the networks should try teaching them things that will help them grow up responsibly and know the difference between love and sex. Not just give in to one of there boyfriends because it looked like fun on t.v. so why not try it.
Nothing is wrong with an evening show for the youth that shows couples and problems they overcome and pressures that rise but they do not have to show sex to get them to tune in. Whether the younger teens admit it or not they are curious and would like to learn about life and will learn just as much without all of the sex on television and sexual cliches'.
