Unfortunately it pains me to say that Kevin Garnett will not help The Boston Celtics win the NBA title this season. Kevin Garnett was seemingly given chance after chance with The Minnesota Timberwolves to win a championship. For years The Timberwolves head office mixed and matched good players with Garnett in hopes that one year they would break through and win it all. There is no doubt that Kevin Garnett is one of the best big men in the league and that he will definately help The Boston Celtics but he swims in somewhat unfamiliar waters when it comes to playoff games and he has a tendency to let his followers down in the big games. I think The Celtics will make the playoffs this year with Ray Allen and Paul Pierce around KG but they will not be able to make a deep run.

Kevin Garnett signed the richest contract in history at the time when he came out of high school as a phenom but T-Wolves fans waited and waited for their team to show them a glimpse of the promised land. There are many teams that would love to have a big man like Kevin Garnett in the low-post and I am happy that the Celtics finally have gotten the big man that they have been lacking for so many years. The fact is Kevin Garnett cant play when the pressure is on. He dominates against teams without substantial big-men but has trouble amongst the Tim Duncan's of the world.

Boston finally has something to cheer about this year when comes to their Celtics but they will be let down in the playoffs when KG has to go against big-men who can match up well against him. Kevin Garnett reminds me of Tim Duncan in that he is a big-man who can shoot mid-range jumpers with success but in crunch time he folds like a lounge chair. I would have stayed away from Garnett in the free agent market because he is expensive and because the dollars spent will not equate to a championship. KG all but waves the white flag and throws in the towel in big games and so is your 100 million plus well spent, maybe if all you want to do is fill the seats. I suppose in playoff starved Boston it is worth their coin to make the playoffs and boost morale in the town but those dollars will not equate to a title in the 2007/2008 season. Enjoy a year that is better then you are used to Celtics fans but not a great one.
