Global warming: What's the real truth?

Vegetarianism: A staple diet and global warming

"If our planet were to be blown to bits, it would have very little cosmic impact." - Stanley Kubrick

Birds of prey are on their way. Waste is time-consuming. And we, my dear earthlings, are the embodiment of an undeniable dilemma. Every day is another call as to just how and why it is doomsday. The current hot topic on the agenda is global warming and its effect on the climate. As it turns out, scientists have discovered that we humans are in fact responsible for the "heating up" of the planet. I imagine so many bodies in such a small place can't help but make things a bit warm. The very lifestyle we have created for ourselves, with the rise of our industrial revolution, is at one and the same time responsible for what doomsayers are calling our eventual and too soon demise; unless, of course, we stop dead in our tracks from "heating up the planet". But how will we do this? It appears that people everywhere are panicking and asking for everyone else to embrace extreme measures of change, and a radical overhaul in approach to lifestyle.

It has been some time now since the biodegradable craze infected us with countless forms of recycling campaigns. As we with lightning speed merge into the technocratic society that is soon to dominate the globe, it is becoming more commonplace to take care of most paper transactions with our computers. Most of us modern techies have switched to online banking as well as online bill-pay practices by now. In addition, many people are pushing hybrid cars and ethanol-as-fuel, as the answer for our climate crisis. All of this activity is taking place as some aspect of our "Save the Planet" campaign kicks into full gear. But is the planet really an endangered place? And are humans really an endangered species? Doomsayers have occupied their "Cassandra-like" forebodings in our world in every age, since time immemorial anyway. While those doomsayers of yesterday are no longer here, the planet, much doomed as they have all once predicted, continues to twirl quite consistently in orbit.

Environmental vegetarians really made quite a case of appeal to me earlier this year. So much so, that for a very brief moment I considered adopting a wholly vegetarian way of life again. I must admit, their argument is rather compelling. About six years ago, I embraced an "eggs & dairy only" vegan way of life for nearly two years, although, I'm not into milk at all. In any event, I was cured
