I'd like to start out by asking, Why, Vanessa, why? I felt somewhat let down when I first heard about the Vanessa Hudgens nude photo scandal. My children love the High School Musical movies and even have her pictures displayed on their bedroom walls.

It definitely wasn't a responsible choice to let someone take a nude photo of her while she was pursuing a career in acting. But even more disturbing than her misjudgment is the fact that she's built an entire public image that revolves around her being an innocent schoolgirl.

Her fans are primarily children and young teens and this is not setting a great example. Since her fans are aware that she is in a relationship with Zach Efron, who his her co-star in the High School Musical movies, they assumed the nude and sexy photo's were taken either by him or for him. Sending the message that this sort of behavior is alright for teenagers as long as they are in a relationship.

Even worse is the truth that later came out, that these photo's were taken well before their relationship and sent to someone she had a crush on.

Vanessa Hudgens is free to take all of the nude photo's that she wants. It's her life. But don't sign on to the Disney channel and portray yourself as an all American Sweetheart unless you're willing to live up to that image. Someone in her position should be using their influence to encourage young girls to set high standards for themselves, but first she'll have to learn to do that for herself.
