time soon because we still have to convince her father that I'm not the devil incarnate."
Luke got up from the piano bench running his fingers through his hair in utter frustration. He looked like a carbon copy of his dad. "Can't you understand? I love her so much it feels like my right arm is missing when she's away from me. I know you know what that's like, Dad. You can't fool me. You and Mom couldn't possibly be more in love. I've witnessed it all my life. You two are together from sun up to sun down and still you can't get enough of each other. I see it, Dad, and I want that, too. I've always wanted that and now I can have that with Alana. She's so incredible, so perfect for me. I'd do anything for her. I'll work my ass off for her. Just as long as she's with me I don't care what I do but she wants me to do something with music so I will, just to make her happy. I know you love Mom like that so don't deny it. I just don't understand why you guys didn't get married before having me."
"What?" Randy started in a panic, "How do you know that?"
Luke rolled his eyes. " I can do math, you know. You only just celebrated your seventeenth wedding anniversary and I'm almost eighteen. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out but it's no big deal. I know you love me or at least Mom does. I'm not so sure about you sometimes."
"That's not true! I was married when you were born,"Randy insisted.
"Dad, it no big deal. I can take the truth. You're just afraid I'll get Alana pregnant before we're old enough to handle it but I already told you we're not doing anything like that until we're legally married so you don't have to worry about it."
"It doesn't matter if your married or not. Bad things can happen when you're in love so young. Please, wait until you're older."
Luke's fury finally let lose. "You are such a hypocrite! You get married before you even go to college and I'm supposed to wait? Do you hate me that much? Am I not worthy of having a perfect life like you have? You have everything I want. A perfect wife, kids, nice home, job you love but I can't have that? You and Mom are so perfect together just like me and Alana. Alana is my Feather. Can't you understand that?"
"No, she's not. She's your Sophia. Dear God, help me," Randy whispered in anguish. He abruptly sat down on the sofa and put his head in his hands.
Luke froze staring at his father. "Who's Sophia?" he asked hesitantly. Randy looked like he was ready to keel over. "Dad?"
"Feather wasn't my first love," he stated
