Assessing renewed interest in horror movies

As long as there are teenagers there will always be horror films. The two seem to go hand in hand. Since the days of Boris Karloff, Ma Clarke and scream queen Evelyn Ankers, young people have been fascinate with horror films. They are the silent dare of testing ones inner courage and pushing beyond the comforts of home. Teens love to be thrilled with shocking scenes of guts and gore and terrifying creatures that go beyond their own imaginations. They love to compete with their comrades, engaging in a battle of who was frightened the most. And what guy can resist using a horror film as an excuse to put his arm around his date for her comfort of course.

Horror films have never left the theaters. Since the 1940's Sci-fi and horror films have been a regular diet on the cinema menu. In fact, as the year's progress, more and more horror films are being created. Just in 2007 alone there are almost fifty horror flicks to choose from. Now that film industries have advanced technologies they can really expand and stretch their imaginations with surreal settings, special effects, and superb costume design. Even the low budget films can be quite impressive today.

So for those who love to dabble in terror, repulsion and view the acts of a twisted mind, horror films will continue to be pumped out, spat out and dished out to the big screen, all ready for you to gobble up. Enjoy!
