I used to look in the mirror
And hated what I would see
It was a physical reflection
But not the real me
I only saw what I was made to believe
From the things I had been told for so long
Of all the bad things I supposedly was
That there was no where I would ever belong
But now as I look at my reflection
The one staring quietly back at me
I finally realize it isn't all that bad
It isn't what I was told I would see
Now I see a person
Who has a beauty of their own
Not perfect by any means
I see a person who has grown
I try to see my through your eyes
To see the good you see in me
I search for the person
I am trying so hard to be
A beauty contest
I could never win
But the person looking back at me
Loves without end
I realize the importance
Of what lies deep inside
The person you can see
When you look deep in my eyes
So now as I look into the mirror
I don't really hate what I now see
Because I know I am trying
To be the best me I can be

looking out at me.
He's always been there hiding
whenever I took time to see.
He always seemed to grow
