When anybody dares to complain about the massive eroding of American freedoms, the common reply is,..if you don't like it go to another country. This reply is an incredibly ignorant statement. All anyone has to do is go back to the start of this country and follow a vast progression of curtailing your freedoms to the point hat now most have no idea of just how free Americans really were. Passing laws that no one gets to vote on, manipulating existing laws to attain goals that further restrict your freedoms. Originally the only illegal things you could do was...the taking of life...the taking of liberty...the taking of property. If you didn't do these things you could do whatever pleased you. Look how far we have strayed from this. This eroding of all our rights has happened so slowly over thy years that it has not been noticed by many. As time progresses things are getting worse at warp speed. Laws are passed that are totally absurd that just a few years back could not even be implemented and those that did would be removed from office. The point that this is the best country to live in will shortly not be true much longer. Shortly after the patriot act was passed I got reported by a ticket train agent for paying with cash and while I was on the train my brother was investigated in person even though showed proper ID. What if this had happened even ten years ago? Sadly I can think of nothing that can be done when the masses are convinced a terrible law like the patriot act is passed and accepted by many. Right now it is mainly the poor that feels the crunch of the loss of rights in America. Soon enough people that had faith in the government will be in for a shock of their lives!
