When and when not to think logically

When it comes to love there is no logic. It starts with a gut feeling. Something you know deep down in the very marrow of your bones, but there may not be any logical reasoning or evidence to support your inner knowledge that you've met "the one." You just know, plain and simple.

Intuition is a primal sense that can be just as important, if not more important at times, then logical analysis and reasoning. Yet, it is that lack of reason and explanation that makes so many people tune out their intuitive voice when they're being given a warning or signal.

Intuition goes against intellectual rational thought, but for anyone who has ever listened to that tiny voice, followed the feeling in their gut and were spot-on in decision making, they understand the power of intuition.

Intuition is complicated and not well understood by science. It can easily be disregarded and tainted by subconscious fears and prejudices so it is not fail-safe to be sure. But neither is logic at times, and when it comes to decisions about love, for instance, logic can often go out the window.

The mind is like a super computer and intuition is the sub-conscious mind quickly analyzing years of data, experience and knowledge to draw its conclusions. But the subconscious and the conscious mind don't always communicate. The conscious mind may feel that intuition is irrational and not based on reason, when in fact it may be based on years of trial-and-error experience.

Intuition, rather than simple logic, can be quite useful when selecting a childcare provider, mate, or when hiring employees. Employers may select one applicant over another even if the one they turn away seemed more logically qualified. When it comes to interacting and compatibility with people, gut feelings rather than logic are often used in the final assessment.
