I wrote the following song about my first novel, actually thinking, at the time, that #1 My book would sell like hotcakes at a country fair and I'd be rich and famous...an overnight sensation! And #2 That I could actually master the art of songwriting. Well, my book didn't make me a millionaire and this song has never been recorded, other than an attempt from an old boyfriend, who, quite frankly can't sing worth a darn. Anyway, you decide. Perhaps I shall stick to writing novels.

She cannot see the haunting face
The one inside her dreams
She fears she'll never know the truth
And then go to extremes
She tries to run and hide
But it's closer than it seems

She's hoping for a brand new scheme
To try it one more time
She wants to wake up and scream

The voices that she heard last night
Were hints of more to come
Voices screaming oh so loud
She prayed for the morning sun
She knows it's time to face the truth
She knows there's no place to run

She's working on a brand new scheme
And she'll try it once again
She feels the urge to scream

The clues are there before her eyes
She must realize today
She'll find the truth is very near
No matter what they say
Her life will change like autumn leaves
Her tears will fade away

She'll grab onto that brand new scheme
