NEW LIFE NEW MAN

Amy had been on her own for four years now, since her mother died from cancer, she had only had a mother, she never knew her father, mum had always said that he left before she was born, she had a good relationship with her mother, but now found herself lonely and sad.
This morning was hopefully going to be better for her, the sun was shining the birds were singing and she had chores to do. She had often wondered what it would have been like to have a doting husband and kids, to look after, but now she was in her mid forties the chances of that happening were very remote. She was standing at the kitchen sink, washing up last nights crockery, and waiting patiently for the kettle to boil, when she heard a commotion happening outside her cottage in the street, she wiped her hands on her apron, and stepped out into her garden, the sun was bright and she put her hand up to shield herself from it, and allowed herself to journey hesitantly down the path to were there was now a small group of villagers gathered. She peered over the hedge, and saw, a youngest man, laying in the road, and a very crumpled push bike lying beside him. "has someone called a doctor" she called as she said it the doctor appeared from a cottage further down the road and ran to assist the man, who by now was starting to come round. Amy opened her gate, and stepped out, she ran to the man, and told him to stay there and lie still, he had a large gash to his head and looked really pale, as the doctor knelt down to attend to the man, Amy lifted the man's bike from the road and pushed it into her garage, at least it would be safe there, she thought. She then ran back to the doctor, to see if she could assist in any way. She arrived back in time to see the doctor picking up a very shaky, trembling man from the road, he had bandaged the cut to his head, but he really needed to rest, Amy suggested that the man recover at her cottage, she had a spare room which was comfortable enough, and his bike was safely in her garage, so with the doctors help they managed to get the man into the cottage and up to the spare room, the doctor said he would return in two days to check on his progress, and he was to have complete rest. Amy said she would make sure he had all the rest he needed, she followed the doctor downstairs, and saw him out of the cottage, then she shut the door and returned to her handsome stranger for by now was asleep in the spare room.

Amy went downstairs and made herself a
