Decorating your house, apartment or party venue for Halloween can be easier than you think. If you're going to be creative you can make a lot of different things using just a few simple products, glue, scissors and tape.
For example, I saw some nice spider web decorations made out of tinsel which look really nice and effective. You could hang them on small hooks as well. You could get some spray paints and decorate your windows with some ghost, spider and spider web shapes. You could make some black flowers out of bin liners for the flower part and some card with the liners wrapped round them for the stems. Then you could arrange them around the party area. For effect you could make some red ones as well out of red crepe paper or tissue paper. You could get some netting and make a large net to hang from the ceiling or sides of the walls and add ghosts, spiders, bits of twigs and tinsel to make it look more like Halloween. You could make a large cardboard grave and a ghost shape using a ghost mask and some black material. You could get red and black paper plates and decorate them with some material, tinsel and other things to keep with your theme. How about making your own red, black, yellow and white paper napkins?.
You could make some Halloween mobiles (I did an article on how to make mobiles for kids, so your kids can get involved as well) and then hang them around the house. If you want to do more you could do some Halloween lampshades and cover your curtains with some red and black material. Glow in the dark lights look good as well and you could make a couple of glow in the dark pictures and picture frames with small glow stickers or paper. For tablecloth ideas you can get some large plain or colored paper cloths for tables and decorate them with Halloween shiny paper shapes and tinsel around the edges. You can use small twigs and leaves you find outside as well for a more old effect and add them to your tables. If you've got any old sheets you could decorate them with paint shapes (you could do these with poster paints and cut out potato shapes and print them on) and then add them to your furniture. Just look around shop windows, books and online for any more creative ideas and then adapt to suit your party or evening.
