Against my better judgment, I feel compelled to add a few comments to what the good Doctor Rosenberger has given us. I am not a physician, I am a retired state worker with tons of friends and have become interested in this issue of erectile dysfunction(ED)because we all need to know more about social and the health issues of these days.
For a man to become known in their social circle as a person who can't get it up anymore - regardless of the cause - is to cause the man concerned a great amount of grief. And how does that information come to be known? The wives all chat about their husbands problems to endless details. The new phrase among women "I know more about Janes love life than I do about her financial life" is sooo true! They all deny it to their mates, but it is sooo true!
For a man to know that sex is a thing of the past does something to his outlook on life. The man who was once an ambitious and aggressive guy in everything from bowling to lawn mowing, suddenly becomes a bit less aggressive and more philoso-phical. The wife tries to get him to go to the family doctor and get some treatment. He knows that as soon as he tells the doctor, he tells the whole medical staff (whether true or not) and he believes his standing with these person just dropped to zero. To go into the pharmacy and order a bag of Viagra pills is unthinkable to the aggressive, athletic guy who wants people to believe he is "whole".
So he tries various means of getting his hands on a "try-out" pack of the blue pills. Succeeding at this (usually over the Internet) he finds the ideal time and tries one pill out. It usually doesn't work. Go back and read the doctors comment in article #1. Viagra does not cause an erection, it only maintains one. Since he probably didn't tell the wife about his secret experiment she had no way of knowing she is going to have to assist her guy get his erection. More often than not this is repeated for a time or two, the blue pills are abandoned for another brand, and the same events occur. Some bad experiments with Internet ads offering "herbal supplements" for ED and the show is over. The man is thoroughly defeated and abandons any thoughts of a return to happy sex life.
The safe approach to this problem of ED is to bite the bullet at the beginning of the problem and see your doctor. Most of the time there is a sound reason for the problems existence and these problems can be solved. The doctor probably sees an average of 10 patients a week who have similar problems and are becoming better at handling this delicate issue.
