For many of us out there, blogging is a big part of our life; to many teenagers, a great way of expressing themselves. When building a blog, it is important to keep note of the template as it shows off your personality, and creativity. A blog template is like a brand for yourself or your signature a customized template can really bring your blog to life, and let your readers view another perspective of you. Also, the context you have on your page show of great importance, and how you present your work.
Depending on your template, we can separate your blog to a couple of sections: the header, the side bars, footer, and the text. Of course you may want to decide that you want to have two side bars and footer too.
For the headers, it is important to find a graphic or lettering that suits your style. There are many different graphics out there or you can customize and create your own. Of course, one of the best strategies will be to use Photoshop to customize your own header. While customizing the header, it is important to note the length as it will generally be the length of your website frame. Generally, there are two options available: one, have a smaller header placed in the middle, and a background or two, have a header that fits on the whole page.
As for the sidebars, it is important to make them a different color framed from the main text. As it is framed, it will provide a more organized view for your readers. A different color that is darker or a little lighter will easily separate the side bar from the main text, and have the link options more available. Have the color of the links changed to a color that fits your blog, and you'll see it definitely help decorates.
For the text section, have it wide and big so that it will draw focus to it. Make sure that the background color for the main text on the blog, and the color of the text are easy to read. Generally, the main background on the blog should not be a bold color like yellow or bright orange as it can really hurt the eyes, and make anyone leave the page immediately no matter how interesting your blog is. The most important concern is the font. Have professional looking font that is big and easy to read.
The footer is generally not something you'll find in a blog. When used properly, it can look like a great decoration. It can be a competition of both a sidebar and a header but it draws less attention to itself.
As many use blogs for the purpose of reaching out into the world while earning from ads, be sure that any ads displayed on your page does not take away from the overall affect, and is nicely blended. If it stands out too much or there are too many ads, it can confuse a reader and lead the off of the page in just minutes.
Keep note that different web browsers will display your blog in a different way, resolution etc. Adjust your blog for the different browsers, and it will irritate less of your readers.
Blogs should be personalized. Many of the most visited blogs have an insight on the author like their personal opinion. A great way of adding "you" into the blogs is to have a picture of yourself. To some this may be a void of privacy so it is just an option; however, many readers show a lot more interest when they feel that they know the author.
Blogging is not just about the look, the quality of the context is important. Make sure that you update regularly and edit the writing. No one wants to read your opinion if it is filled with spelling and grammar errors.
Blogging is a wonderful way of expressing yourself, and learn html and editing as well. A good design is not everything, but after all, many people do judge a book by the cover.
