Religion has many sides to consider.
As a business to make it possible to maintain and build on the structures of religion, we must be open to as many practitioners as possible to support the effort, financially as well as spiritually. There are government and church rules to follow in a financial manner to support any effort of the group dynamic.
Without advertising it is word of mouth. In case it has not been noted, of late the current society attitude is 'against' religion as an institution. There are more people opting out of religion organizations, than joining. How will the money be found to support the buildings and centres of learning about religion?
Many people feel the church is getting rich on the backs of the poor, who can little afford the donations they are called upon to give. The wealthy are avoiding spending their money for others in a highly materialistic approach to life. Materialism and Religion are at odds with regard to spirituality.
As a community to meet and greet God as we understand it, it is the spirituality component. In this community can be a diverse and individual approach to God. The more we see and understand life, the more we question this aspect of our belief system.
Having a community of interested seekers is important to our understanding of dealing with others within our beliefs, or without. Having love and respect for all, is the important aspect to growth of ideals.
Advertising can be as simple as showing the path to the address. Or it can be as full as giving a tickler to encourage attendance. Either way, advertising is about telling people about a product. Religion is a commodity that is in need of showing the way through advertising its wears.
