Falling to the floor after getting out of your chair to attend to trifling things like eating or its side-effects is not a good enough reason to stop your quest for the highest possible score in Super Collapse II. After all, the game has "collapse" in the title; if it doesn't deliver, you haven't been playing long enough.
The twitching of one eyelid is not a good enough excuse to quit, either. Twitching merely indicates that you are in fact still alive, and have not been assimilated into your game system like that lucky bastard Kevin Flynn. If less people took breaks from gaming, we would have technology to get in there by now.
No, the most glaring sign that you need to step away from the screen is when it goes black. In fact, depending on your location in the world and the time of day, the entire room may go dark. This means the electricity has gone out. There are some pointers to overcoming this problem in series like Tomb Raider and Silent Hill, but generally all you will need to do is give money to the company who provides power to your home. This may be easier than scaling cliffs and killing zombies, but is not half as entertaining. It also requires an income, which you may have previously dipped into to purchase those fancy controllers that break after every few months of heavy use.
Strange smells are also a sign that your attention is needed elsewhere. If, for instance, you were called to dinner and your Sims have since had grandchildren, either your food has spoiled, or your housemates are dead. The latter does not guarantee zombies are on their way-you will most likely need to take care of the source of the smell yourself. Should the smell happen to be yourself, but is only noticeable when you perform any number of victorious gestures upon the completion of a level, you still have time to take care of those remaining Covenant Elites before taking a break.
