Advantages of cloth diapers

Using cloth diapers is an excellent choice for new mother and veteran mothers alike. Gone are the days where you have to rely on diaper pins and a single square piece of cloth in order to use cloth diapers. The new breed of cloth diapers includes velcro, snaps, and comfy fuzzy fleece.

It is strange to realize how new disposable diapers are, and yet they permeate the households of America. While it is still uncommon to find a parent who uses cloth diapers, the internet is increasing the numbers. People are realizing how long it takes for disposable diapers to disintegrate, and just how many of them end up in our landfills. Not only are they made of plastic and chemicals, but they are full of poop that ends up in our waterways.

Though helping the environment is a good reason to use cloth diapers, it is sadly not enough to earn most people's attention. Thankfully there have been so many adaptations made to cloth diapers in recent times that it would be silly for the pocketbook to continue using disposables.

The average newborn goes through more than 12 diapers a day. This number definitely puts a strain on your wallet. Instead of purchasing an infinite number of disposable diapers, it is in your best interest to buy 15 cloth diapers in order to wash and reuse them! You do so much laundry with a newborn anyway that it is not an extra burden to put in a load of cloth diapers every day or two.

Despite the financial reasons, many want to use disposables because they believe that they are easier to use. That is not the case! Cloth diapers now, called "Pocket Diapers" feature a removable insert, comfortable fleece and either velcro or snap closures. Anyone can put on a cloth diaper without fooling with pins! Pocket Diapers (brands such as Fuzzi Bunz and Happy Heinys) are waterproof as well. If you had the choice between wearing crunchy plastic and chemicals or a nice fleecy diaper, I'm sure you'd choose the latter!

There are so many reasons to use cloth diapers nowadays. There is simply no excuse to use disposables. You can save money, time running to the store, and cover baby's butt in something you'd like to wear. Cloth diapering is the way to go!
