Poetry: Black history month

Black is just another Color

Black is just another color out of all the millions of colors in the world,
Black do not define my metamorphosis from a girl to a woman.
Black cannot tell you, if I am just like you especially if you are white,
I find it better to see my characteristics and physical features and maybe you could try that.
Black is not that power to help us to overcome and win,
No, I think we have strength we find with in to fight and not go down for the count.
Black is just another color,so many are blinded by you see,
Stubbornness and ignorance will show you that brown is my skin color and well black, a name you gave.
Black is not what will hold me back, tell me I am unqualified,
I am woman with a strong determined will, stop me if you can.
Black is just another color, let acceptance shine through,
I am no less of an human, I walk, talk, listen, hurt, and live just like you!
