Is Iraq ever going to be ready to defend it's people? Are they too busy fighting over things that we who have been raised with the American Freedoms just cannot understand? Is the Theistic society that is ruled by their beliefs in Allah and their hate for the infidels hindering our actions in Iraq? I believe that it is. Some of the Iraqi people want us there, but some of the people think that because we have stepped on their land, they should retaliate by bombing our country...we are the infidels who believe in God rather than Allah.
Can we as Americans, who have been raise in a society of freedom of religion, truly understand the mission that these people feel to the very fiber of their being, so much so that they are willing to blow themselves up because of it. They believe that they will go to heaven. It is the same thing that the Japanese people believed when they had their Kamikaze pilots blowing themselves up to kill their enemies. Can we understand how they could believe that a human was a direct descendant of the Sun god? I guess the closest thing we have to it is the Catholic people believing that a man, a priest, has the authority to forgive sins.
So again my question is this, can we end a war that we cannot understand the very visceral beliefs that are behind all of the hate, hurt, and killings? Will Iraq ever be able to defend their own nation? Will they be able to put away their beliefs for the good of the people? It doesn't seem that way. Let's let them fight their own fights and get through all of the horrible hatred which they have been raised with...we can only hope that the next generation, and the following generations will learn that hate and judgment only fuel death and war.
We have done our part. We have set them free. We have tried to help them figure out what to do with their freedoms and now it is up to them.
