If you are organizing an event and want to invite celebrities, there are a few things you need to do:
Usually, many celebrities are quite active in social issues. So if you want to attract them, promote your event or cause well. Start promotions and try to grab limelight; seek a positive way to remain in news; create awareness about your efforts and accomplishments. These things build credibility and remove suspicions of fraudulent cases in the name of charities.
Get good sponsors. Always try to get the best sponsors. If the stars are associated with some brand, you could try and get a sponsorship from the brand and also use them to bring in the star at the event. Also use your contacts and PR (personal relations) to invite celebrities.
Be sure to make good brochures, giving a history of previously organized events. Add pictures of the celebrities who attended the events. Especially highlight the names of bigger celebrities.
If you want contributions, mention the popular names that have made huge contributions to the charity in previous events. Also mention the amounts they have contributed, so that celebrities also contribute in similar or even larger amounts. The figures give an estimate of the contributions that are expected of the celebrities and also give a kind of competition or challenge.
Be sure to make a detailed plan of what they are to expect and the estimated time duration of the whole event. Send out letters with a complete list of programs, other popular guests who will be in attendance, and the list of celebrities & contributions in the past events. Make sure you know how to handle the celebrities. Give them appropriate protocol.
If you have a good contact with an important personality, who is sure to cooperate and attend the event, you could use them as an attraction to the event. Give the event media coverage, and promote the event in public so it develops interest in the celebrities also.
With the proper language, PR and promotions, any event can be successful in attracting attention and get celebrities on the show. Also, always try to have backups; invite more celebrities, so even if a few refuse to come or cannot make it to the event, you always have other celebrities.
