The Passion was violent for a reason. Jesus was Crucified. Many people didn't want to watch, because they don't want to believe the violence or they choose to ignore. Maybe it is a coping mechanism. I loved the Passion because it remined me that Jesus did THIS FOR ME! How awesome is that.
The Da Vinci Code is a different matter - I don't feel like there should be any riling up. IT IS A WORK OF FICTION. That should be enough said, but I know it isn't. Mr. Brown wrote a very discriptive and wordy tale. There were parts I enjoyed and parts that dragged. Jesus was brought here as a man to relate to us. He lived with us and as us for his short life here. If him a Mary M. fell in love in their earthly bodies, that is fine with me, if not that is fine as well. We may never know all that transpired in his private life. The information would have not been included in the Bible because it DIDN'T MATTER. What was important...the healing of the lepers, the bringing back to life of the dead, the walking on water....I dare anyone to show me another who can do this by laying their hands on someone. They were miracles. The biggest one and the whole foundation of my religion and other Christians is EASTER. Jesus ... as far as I know ... is the ONLY one to rise from the dead. Over 2000 years the church has stood on this and our faith remains strong.
Because of our unshakable strength in our beliefs in God. The mother church is under constant attack. Everyone loves to bring down that which can not be brought down. Many have tried since Jesus left Peter in charge of his church and all have failed. After each attack they leave our church stronger and more able to sustain herself through the grace of God. This is our test.
