Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is a place filled with activities designed for every member of the family, regardless of their age.
A day cruise offers the chance to see Puerto Vallarta from the sea, with the chance to snorkel, kayak, see the natural animals, or just enjoy the scenery. The Princess Vallarta offers half-day tours for the whole family, that includes a chance to snorkel at the Los Arcos Underwater Marine Preserve. The tours run Monday through Saturday from April to the middle of December. This five hour tour is priced at $42 for adults, $21 for kids 6-12, and $5 for children five or younger. The Princess Yelapa offers sightseeing, wild animals on their natural habitat, and take a small break in Yelapa. While in Yelapa families have the chnce to try snorkeling, kayaking, parasailing, and other outdoor activities. The tour lasts 7.5 hours, and is priced the same as the Princess Vallarta tours.
Families looking to for something different can try deep sea fishing. Puerto Vallarta is known for its wide variety, and abundance of trophy fish. Private charter companies in the area offer half-day, and full day trips for small groups, or smaller families can join another group for a shared trip. All equipment is included in the price, and they can provide lunch for an additional fee. Deals start at $335 per person for a 4 hour trip.
More adventurous families can take a hot air balloon ride across Puerto Vallarta, and enjoy the scenic views below. Most programs include a short lesson on safety, and then a 1.5 hour trip at up to 3,000 feet above the ground. The cost is $210 per person, and they have a height requirement of 4 foot for admittance. Or tempt your spirit with the Rio Cuale Ride. The trip leaves Puerto Vallarta, crosses a suspension bridge, and works its way through the Sierra Madre jungle. The price includes a guide, water, snack, gloves, and the use of a mountain bike. Prices are $41 for adults, and $20.50 for children 9-12.
Snorkeling is always on the agenda in Puerto Vallarta, with some companies offering snorkeling lessons, and others offering a sailing trip with snorkeling thrown in for added fun. Los Arcos has one such deal. Adult tickets are available for $45, kids 5-12 $22.50, and kids under 5 are free. The sailing trips start in Marina Vallarta or Nuevo Vallarta. Los Arcos also offers 4 hour snorkeling events, priced at $16 for children and $32.50 for adults. The trips begin in several locations, and includes a return fair.
Nearly everyone has heard of the chance to swim with the dolphins, but the same encounter can be had with adorable sea lions. The programs lasts 45 minutes, and costs $54 for each person, regardless of age. The only limit is that children must be 4.5 feet tall. Or try a canopy ride, watching the world below you sail by at over 600 feet in the air. The rides are open to anyone over the age of seven, priced at $67.50 for adults and $33.74 for kids 7-12.
No matter what your family loves, there's something for everyone in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
