There is so much hype about the benefits derived from electric cars and it is a legitimate one because of our need to save the environment from so much pollution from gasoline fueled vehicles. At this point however, an electric car is still a hard sell because the power and speed you get from electric cars is way behind the present non-electric cars. For limited usage an electric car would be good for doing short errands like visiting a friend nearby or doing some groceries. I would want an electric car as a second car or for limited usage.

When the time comes that a long lasting charged and light battery or power supply that can run a car at equal or satisfactory power and speed as the gasoline fueled equivalent, an electric car will no longer be just a second car. It is a great challenge to all car manufacturers to make it a reality. Who could be happier than the whole of mankind if all cars are electric? Global warming will slow down and the air we breathe would be cleaner.

The possibility of reaching that goal of having an electric car for every day use is not very far, considering that a hybrid car has become popular. The only car that can follow after a hybrid is an electric car.
