Baby showers always have the same themes, pink, blue, green or yellow with all of the duck, baby, bootie & pacifier decor that coordinate. Want something different? Want to WOW everyone on your guest list. Here are some great new things to make your baby shower the talk of the town.
1. Have a Belly Casting party, yes belly casting, and PLEASE do NOT forget the men! It's fun for everyone in attendance. Here's how to make it happen. First you order a Belly Casting kit like the one from www.proudbody.com for $31.99. Now that your kit is on it's way you can create invitations. A simple idea for invitations would be to buy traditional "baby shower" invites and then include a list of items your guests should bring ie. camera, film, and a picture of themselves pregnant or if they don't have kids then a picture of themself. These photos make for great decorating. Once you've set the date, sent out the invites, and made hors d' oeuvres it's time to set the stage for the main event. Everything you'll need will come with your kit, however, having done this myself, I fully recommend rubbing your belly down with vaseline then layering plastic wrap (like you use in the kitchen) and another light coat of vaseline before you start layering the plastered sheets on. This will make for better removal once the cast has hardened. Second of all, I suggest wearing a thin tank top that you won't mind throwing away, something with no ribbing or embellishment. Men will absolutely LOVE this baby shower, it's something they can take part in too. After the cast has hardened you can opt to have all of your guests sign the inside of the cast or you can use the photos they brought to decorate the front. Don't forget, once your little bundle of joy has arrived to take pictures of the baby laying inside the tummy area of the cast.
2. If you're into something a little more mellow then here's a great baby shower theme. Everyone always has a wish for their child, to be healthy, happy, a lawyer, marry a doctor, etc. So host a Wishing Party. Decorate with shooting stars, and things that you wish for your child's future for example: maybe you want them to follow in your footsteps and be a cheerleader, use small pom-poms and megaphones. Then when your guests arrive at the baby shower, have them each write down ONE wish that they have for your child. Once everyone has written down their wish, take a polaroid of each guest. Then take a small photo album and compile the wish with the person who
