How can we look beautiful through our stomachs? It's not too hard.
First, flaxseed is king. Flaxseed is one of the most nutritional dense and beneficial foods on the planet. Tons of fiber, protein, low calories, and a lot of omega-3 fatty acids which are essential in great skin. You can get flaxseeds already ground or still in seed form and grind them yourself. Throw them in smoothies, your cereal, bread crumbs when breading meat, granola, peanut butter... anything you can think of. They have very little favor, so you won't notice the addition.
Second, salmon is great. Salmon also has omega-3 fats that are great for your skin. Toss freshly grilled or sauteed salmon in a salad with lots of crunchy vegetables to contrast the silky fish texture. Or make my favorite - a California sushi bowl. Combine all the great flavors of a California roll in a bowl - white or brown rice, chopped cucumber, chopped avocado, salmon, a little soy sauce, and wasabi if you're adventurous! You'll get the good fat from the salmon and the avocado, it will fill you up, and you'll feel like you're eating a meal at a spa.
Last, stay away from white stuff. I have a killer sweet tooth, so this can be extremely hard. But steering clear of sugar and white flour as best you can will do wonders for your skin. Instead of ice cream, go for no sugar added fudge pops or chocolate pudding. Eat whole wheat pasta and bread instead of white. Stop drinking soda, and drink water instead. People are trying to eat healthier foods, so the companies are working hard to provide great tasting healthy foods to accomodate consumers; take advantage of that! Don't be afraid to try things with less sugar and whole wheat. You'll be extremely surprised.
