Where to find a complete directory of all embassies around the world

Traveling can be the most exciting and adventurous thing we do; but it can also be extremely stressful if you are not fully prepared, especially for those traveling abroad.

We all know that the first thing we need in order to travel abroad is our Passport. To avoid any problems returning home from traveling abroad, make sure that your passport is valid at least 6 months or longer beyond the dates of your trip. If you don't have a passport you can apply at any local Post Offices that are accepting passport applications, your local City Clerks Office and in emergency cases you can contact your local Passport Agency. You should be aware that the Post Offices, City Clerks Office and especially the Passport Agencies accept applications by appointment only, so make sure to schedule in advance. You should also be aware that due to the Intelligence Reform and Prevention Act of 2004 and The Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative which was put into effect on January 23, 2007, that all travelers are required to present a passport or other document that denotes identity and citizenship when entering the U.S. This now includes anyone who is entering the United States from Mexico, Canada, Bermuda and the Caribbean region. You can find more information on passport applications and local locations for applying for passports by visiting www.visahq.com.

One of the most important things you should do before traveling abroad is register with the United States Embassy in the country you are going to visit. It is advisable to let the U.S. Embassy know where your staying, the length of your visit, including your arrive and departure dates. You will also want to make sure that you include a copy of your passport when submitting your application, be sure to include emergency contact information.
Registering will allow you to receive travel warning updates, and protection in case of an emergency.

Registering is quit simple and only takes a few minutes; just log onto either www.vishq.com/site_map.php or http://usembassy.state.gov and select the Embassy or Consulate of the country you are planning to visit and the contact information will be listed. You can either email the Embassy giving them the specific detailed information about your stay or you can go to https://travelregistration.sta te.gov/ibrs/ui/ to register instantly on-line. I do recommend faxing the Embassy a copy of your passport; this helps you with your identity in case your passport is lost or stolen.

Both websites also include Visa information and fees, and it is very important to check to see if a Visa is required before entering the country of interest. This eliminates the long waiting period to pass through immigration. Although you can not purchase a Visa through the Department of State website, you can obtain Visa applications or even apply on-line through www.visahq.com.

VisaHq.com offers valuable information on each countries customs, their profile, and their holidays. They even help you locate a travel agent in your area. Visit www.visahq.com when planning your next trip abroad.
