Perhaps the most enjoyable paper dolls I've made within the past couple of years were ones that I found on a website called www.makingfriends.com. I used these printable dolls for several craft ideas, bulletin boards, and learning centers for my preschoolers when I taught 3-5 year olds. With these dolls, I printed out several different dolls in different colors, clothing, and hairstyles. I laminated them, cut them out, and put magnets on the back of each piece. My preschoolers loved this learning center where they could play with the paper dolls on a magnet board, and dress them up.

WWW.MAKINGFRIENDS.COM provides templates for the dolls, clothes, and accessories. You can choose to print in color, or in black and white. The dolls on this site are very diverse. You can print your dolls in several different skin tones. It also provides dress-up dolls who wear glasses, have freckles, and even dolls who are in wheelchairs. There are also several different hairstyles for you to choose from.

This site has some great themes for teachers. You can print out clothing and accessories in multicultural themes. Showing the kids what to wear during different seasons? Print out the clothing and make a learning center for them to match the dolls with the appropriate wear. They also have holiday, spiritual, scouting, athletic, and career outfits to print out for your dolls. There is also a category with miscellaneous outfits including cowboys, princesses, and pirates which would be great to use for a Halloween bulletin board! And, for all those scrapbooking fanatics, like myself, this site would be good for some free cute add-ons to your page layout!
