Summer is the perfect time to create fun and exciting crafts for kids. It's a great time to use their free time and a way to save them from boredom. Instead of sitting them in front of the television all summer or taking them to expensive places each week, try to be creative and sit down with your kids to have craft time. Family time! Moms are great for these projects, but dads don't forget your important to you children too.
1.) A great summer crafts to create with your kids is to make your own painted T-shirts. You can buy bubble paint at your local craft store. They are usually about ninety-nine cents a piece. They also sell metallic fabric paint pens that add that extra shine to your t-shirts. Once you have bought your items, decorate away. For a girl, you could add flowers, stick people that might resemble your family or even hearts, etc... Use your imagination and have a great time creating your summer craft. Since it's a summer craft, you could always add summer thoughts to your page. Maybe make a beach theme on your page with waves to look like a beach. For a boy, you can add bumble bees, snakes, cars or even make a sand castle with a sand bucket. You might even want to add a painting of a big beach ball and add all your names into each section after it drys.
2.) Beanbag Balls.
All CRAFT MATERIALS:
9 (11-inch) balloons (for 3 balls)
Funnel
2 1/4 cups of dried lentils
Scissors
Stretch the first balloon by inflating it halfway, holding it closed for about 30 seconds, and then deflating it. Place a funnel in the balloon's round neck and slowly pour in about 3/4 cup of lentils.Be sure to push them in as you go. The balloon should be firm but squeezable. Cut off the balloon's thick round rubber lip. Cut the neck off a second balloon and gently stretch the opening. Ease the second balloon over the filled balloon, tucking in the neck as you go. Cut the neck off the third balloon, stretch the opening, and ease it over the other two. Repeat this process to make a set of three balls, or however many you'd like to make.
This is a great project, but more fun to play with after they are make. If you have a bucket, you can see how many throws it takes each child to make a whole in one. These totally toss-able, squeezable balls are lightweight and easy to grip, making them perfect for novice jugglers, beanbag games, or a good old game of catch.
3.) Silly Sun Glasses.
Let your children have so much fun with their very own silly, but cool personalized sun glasses. Heres what you will need to make this cooky craft.
Materials:
Googly eyes
Tacky Glue
Kid Sunglasses
If your child wants to make a truly eye-catching statement for summer fun, simply have her use tacky glue to stick googly eyes on the frame of her sunglasses.
