The effects of pride
School pride the "puff out chest", "THAT" is "MY SCHOOL" it's a good thing to be proud where one came from. Alumni donate thousands of dollars to their "alma mater" because of a sense of gratitude and pride in their school.
Pride a parent watching their child receive a reward it's a good thing!
Pride a parent knowing their child has done his/her best, even if they didn't get the top prize it's a good thing!
Pride at successful accomplishment of something like a project at home, school or work it's a good thing!
Pride looking at your freshly washed and waxed car "NOT BAD" for your aging car it's a good thing
Pride after working at the gym regularly, and watching calories and fat intake, and seeing results it's a good thing how good you're looking and feeling!
Pride like most things too much can be a BAD thing!
While it's good to have feelings or pride and accomplishment, too much "PRIDE" can puff up a person.
For example, the proud person who cannot admit error or any kind, is not very enjoyable to be around. Pride can be a bad thing!
The proud person, who bases the value of something by the "cost" and looks at anything else with condescension or utter disgust, is difficult to relate to.
Or, the proud parent who arrogantly brags on their child as the "BEST MEMBER" on the team, to the exclusion of the importance of anyone else, offends everyone while attempting to convince everyone of their child's value.
Or, the proud person who doesn't care what anybody thinks. While one cannot and should not live for the approval of others ALL THE TIME, to think one can live without any regard for the opinions of ANYONE else is hard to be around. Pride it's a bad thing!
Pride is it good or bad? YES!
