New approaches to menopause help women and reduce US cancer rates

It is a fact of life, eventually all women will go through menopause and all its bothersome symptoms. While not everything can help the 34 symptoms of menopause, some items can help the top symptom complaint. Hot flashes are by far one of the most annoying for most women. You are hot when everyone else is freezing, or reversely freezing in 90 degree weather. Hot flashes/Cold flashes are the most researched of all menopausal symptoms. If you don't want to use traditional hormone replacement therapy (HRT), which has been linked to some very worrisome medical issues in the past, to get through this time perhaps some all natural ways to help can be of service.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is beginning to become well received in the medical field for its help in hot flashes. According to a study by Stanford University, women with hot flashes had a 28% decrease in the severity of their symptoms while undergoing acupuncture compared to the 6% decrease that the women who underwent a sham procedure reported. These results came after just seven weeks of treatment. Acupuncture can also help a variety of other ailments as well, so if you have more than just hot flashes going on perhaps you can kill two birds with the same stone.

Herbs

Herbs have been hailed as the cure all for everyone for everything, but some of them can really work depending on the individual. Menopause hot flashes and herbs for them have been widely studied. According to a study by the National Institutes of Health, the ever popular black cohosh doesn't do any better for you than a sham product. However, it could lower your risk of breast cancer and if you believe that it will work, chances are that you can lower your symptoms just by the power of believing.

Deep Breaths

Breathing deeply has some very real implications on menopause hot flashes in women. Slow breaths can cut hot flash intensity and reduce its length by up to 50%. Wayne State University studied deep breathing and its affects on menopausal related hot flashes and saw a very real correlation between less stress and fewer hot flashes.

Yoga

Much the same way as deep breaths and the Wayne State University study, yoga can help you relieve stress which will in turn help your intense hot flashes diminish. Exercise can help you feel better and that will help all your symptoms as well.
