..Wonders of Youth..
..Wind driven hail belting the ground
forming a mosaic on the sand strewn concrete.
..Children running around in the storm
with pots and pans to cover and protect their fragile heads.
..Unaware each ice pellet had traveled farther to ping and pang
on their protective helmets than if there had been no wind.
..Only to end up flung in piles against the walls and staircase
or at the base of trees like crystal clusters.
..The storm clouds blown away,
their frozen children never to be seen again.
..Now feeding the mycotic fungal growths in the cracks and crevasses
that never see the sun as they melt dripping their tears of life.
..One of the children lowers his tin pot from his head and stares in amazement
as the cloud children slowly depart their present form.
..Two more join him and lower to the ground to ponder the thoughts of the first child
each in turn speaking in awe as Plato and Socrates would have early in the previous millennium.
..Two others bandy similar ideas Plutarch did a thousand years before
wondering if hail fell on the moon the same as it hit their helmets here on earth
falling into a diatribe when the other child disagreed
.......Ahhh the wonders of youth.
