Mount Airy Casino Resort is slated to open this fall in 2007 with 2500 of the latest slot machines. I have seen ads being placed in papers in the New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania areas trumpeting the grand opening of the brand new Mount Airy Casino Resort. Having been to the old Mount Airy Lodge, I'm looking forward to visiting the new Casino Resort with slots and gambling.
The new Casino Resort is already boasting of fine dining including:
Red Steakhouse - fine steaks, I guess.
Le Sorelle Cucina - featuring fine Italian foods.
Betty's Diner - 50's style diner food.
Buffet - will seat 400 guests.
The Hotel itself will feature 188 guest rooms and 25 luxury suites. A 150 seat nightclub called Gypsies will also open with no doubt lounge act singers and comedians.
There is also an 18 hole golf course, a 6,000 foot conference center, a full service luxury Spa, a 27 acre lake for fishing and canoeing, nature trails for hiking in the beautiful Pocono Mountains and and excercise and wellness center.
But we all know the draw will be the slots machines and gambling. The Pennsylvannia legislature passed a gaming law in 2006 which allows gambling at Mount Airy Casino Resort as well as other places in the state. How many of the lawyers who helped pass the legislation will attend conferences at the new Casino? How many people will actuall show up in the Poconos to gamble?
Cannot wait for Mount Airy Casino Resort to open this Fall and we call find out.
