As a teenager living in a fairly affluent town, it is apparent even at this age who is on their way up and who is going to be working at McDonald's for the rest of their lives. I believe that some people cannot succeed for many reasons, but it has to do with their drive to do well, upbringing, and attitude towards life. If someone doesn't have a strong drive to accomplish tasks and to do well in school, how are they going to survive in the corporate world? No one is going to be forcing them through life to earn more money at their menial job or to earn a college degree; it is all up to them. If an individual doesn't believe in themselves and have self-motivation that carries them through life, it is obvious that they are going to be stuck at a low-paying job for a long stretch of time.
Another topic that I feel strongly about is that a person's childhood and upbringing directly correlates with how much they accomplish in their lives. I am lucky to have a set of parents that urge me to try new things and only accept straight A's on my report card, but some kids aren't so lucky. If a child has parents that are accepting of their mixed C's and D's that they bring home when both child and guardian know that the student can do better, they are going to carry this mentality with them for the rest of their lives and perform "average" in all future endeavors. In this world, millionaires and successful businesspeople aren't just "average".
