Top ways to save money at the supermarket:
1. Check out for discount sections or any red tagged sale
2. Buy Family packs cause frankly they cost lesser than single packs
Tip if youre single or a small family, it makes sense to go shopping with other friends and share the family/bulk packs you can save a lot this way
3. Buy off-seasonal goods:
For eg:
Some good jackets or sweaters after winter
leather goods in rainy season
These goods you can use next year but you save a bomb on these
4. Try to get COMBO packs
like toothbrush with toothpaste, etc
5. Pay by CASH as majority of the shops give discounts on full cash payments
6. Wait for certain discounts like the ones that come during festivals when items become cheap
7. Wait for that black friday or something when the electronic goods come at dirt cheap rates(in US)
8.Avoid buying things on particular days when its the costliest
eg. LIQUOR on New Years Eve when its the costlier than other days
OR Indians avoid buying on Gudi Padwa when everything is costly
9. Ofcourse use coupons and vouchers whenever you can, these could be obtained in newspapers, magazines and websites.
Oh by the way the best way of saving money at the supermarket is to go there without money or card, just a true friend who will help you whenever you are in need ;)
Well there are certain unethical ways which I never have tried but have seen like
Purposely damage the packing and it can pass as defective item but seriously try it at your own risk I dont recommend it ;)
