Product reviews: Olympus CAMEDIA C 370 Zoom camera

Technical info: 3.2 mega pixels, 3x optical zoom, 4x digital zoom, USB, XD-Picture, 140 gram, 1.5 inch LCD.
Price range for new product: 79.99 - 153.69

This is my first digital camera, and when I bought it I needed something small and easy to use, for taking close-up pictures.
After spending a while researching, I decided to buy this camera, and I'm really pleased I did, especially at the 15 it cost me on eBay, for a new one.

It has the same features most digital cameras have - optical and digital zoom, USB connection to computer, 1.5" LCD, etc.
The Olympus Camedia C-370 Zoom is extremely easy to use. I looked at the instructions for about 5 minutes before using, just to understand the basics of using it, and I haven't needed them since. All the buttons are very self-explanatory, and straightforward.

It has a few different options for taking photos, most of which I don't even need to use, including: portrait, self-portrait, landscape, normal and video. There is also and option that heps lessen red eye effects.

The Macro zoom is very useful - using it you can take clear pictures from about 2 or 3 inches away, providing you have enough light to do so.

You have a choice of a variety of sizes to take your pictures in - 2048x1536 is the largest, but if you don't have enough memory for that, you can use the 640x480 option. Doing that, you can hold about 70 photos at one time using just the 12MB of built in memory. Otherwise, you can buy an XD card for more memory. The photos are saved as JPG files.

As I mentioned before, you can also take video with the camera, but no audio. The video is saved as a Quicktime file.

Once you have taken your photos, you can view them by pressing a button next to the screen, and choose whether you want to keep them or delete them.

Running on 2 AA batteries, you can take a lot of photos. I haven't exactly counted how many, but this year I've only had to change the batteries 2 or 3 times. You can use rechargeable batteries, or plug the camera into the mains if you are at home.

Connecting the camera to a computer is easy. Just plug in the USB cord that comes with the camera, and transfer your images.

Basically, I would recommend this camera to anyone that hasn't had a digital camera before, or to someone that wants a very easy-to-use camera for taking simple photos.
