Poetry: Living fully

I used to think that wherever you were
was just the place you were waiting
until where you went next.
Always looking to the future
for something better
and defining myself by my past.
I was too caught up in what hadn't happened yet
that I could hardly see what was happening right now.
To stop, quiet your mind, open your eyes,
be at this moment, be nowhere but here.
Now is all that ever exists
Right now is all there really is
Enjoy each moment that gets you there.
Let go where you thought you were going
leave behind you wherever you were.

The illusion of time I can make disappear
Only then are you nowhere, except right here.
