Meaning of Life

Is this a perfect world

NOBODY IS PERFECT

Have you ever wondered about that statement? Man was made from the dust of the earth to remind him of the futility and transient nature of life. Fine dust is easily blown away by the wind, yet out of that dust we can make fine and exotic pottery.

It's until gold has been grounded to fine dust that it's ready for use. Side by side there's dust and gold. Utter futility on one side and utter beauty on the other side. Man strives to reach the ideal of perfection yet each step ushers him to unexplored limits of perfection. And so for every passing moment man needs to keep a balance between perfection and imperfection.

Keeping a balance between imperfection and perfection doesn't imply that he will linger in the path of imperfection but that as he strives to move on to perfection or excellency he will not forget where he came from. That will help him to forgive himself when he fails and falters.

As you pursue your journey towards Excellency you need to be kind to yourself when you don't make it as expected. Man is imperfect yet perfect. We don't need to get so worked up when we don't perform as expected. Yet the law of life always leads us higher and to greater heights beyond our mere imperfection. Without looking higher and higher we cannot grow. We cannot make sense of our life and the beauty inlaid within the formless fine dust within cannot be realized.

Accepting our imperfections, limitations, etc simply means accepting ourselves as we are. Acknowledging our limitations and abilities will lead to the realization of our human spirit and potential. There is a story of a child in Rome who spent hours watching a strange young man working intently. Finally, the boy spoke. Signore, why are you hitting that rock?' Michelangelo looked up from his work and answered, Because there's an angel inside and it wants to come out.'

Weakness and strength, imperfection and perfection, poverty and wealth, sadness and joy, happiness and unhappiness, etc. These co-exist side by side and it is upon us to choose what you want to come out of your life. Let the weak say I am strong and it will presumably turn out to be so. And do your utmost to let that angel out!

Man is faced with a choice of either listening to his lower nature or the higher nature. What would you like to see your life represent? Heed to the calls that summon you to higher grounds and your life will grow.

Yet as you move up you are going to meet obstacles that will tempt you to look down but at all cost look up because that's where your destiny is. Don't give in when weakness, imperfection, sadness, etc, challenge you. Always remember that nobody is perfect.'
