Have you ever pondered life from a cat's perspective? How wonderful it would be to know what our furry feline friends are really thinking! At times I catch one of our cats staring at me with a contemplative look on it's face and wonder what it is thinking or what it is plotting to do to me.
Considering how much larger a human being is than a cat, it is a wonder at all that most will come to you in blind trust if you are patient enough. So what are they thinking when they do that? Is the need for love and attention or food overpowering enough to go up to another creature so large that the word giant is not descriptive enough of our size difference?
We have two house cats and sometimes I wonder how they see us and what they are thinking. We have one female who is nothing but a little pig when it comes to food. She wants her food and everyone else's, the other cat's, the house dog's and ours. It struck me one day that she probably thinks we are pigs, considering the amount of food on our plates and the amount of it she gets. I know! I know! I should not feed table scraps to the pets. It is just very hard not to when they sit there at your feet looking up at you so wistfully like our dog does. It is even harder when they look at you wistfully while sticking claws in your leg to make sure you understand they want your food the way our little piglet does.
Abby is one of the funniest cats I have ever had. She is so curious and so creative in her attempts to get her way that I cannot help but laugh at her antics. She has also made me ponder more on how a cat sees us than any other cat I have had.
I have a lung disease and have to wear oxygen. Even when I rarely do not have it on, I breathe hard and I am sure it sounds as strange to the pets as the noise the oxygen makes. Abby likes to take a nap with me. However, she evidently does not like the sound of my breathing. One day recently I had gone to bed for a nap and she got in bed with me and snuggled up just as close as she could get, one front leg lying over my arm to make sure I did not get up. With the other front paw, she decided to mash my nose flat so my breathing would not disturb her nap. Needless to say, it did not take long for me to put a stop to that as I could not breathe. I wondered if she ever questions why I sound different than everyone else she sees.
Abby also is relentless when she decides she wants to be petted. So much so, I have found that she would do just about anything
