Some flight passengers do not like to buy flight insurance. Most of them belong to the adolescent group.

Their youth (because they do not have dependents yet) gives them that adventurous spirit to GO WHERE NO ONE HAS GONE BEFORE(world famous star trek quote). They believe that statistics wise, plane crashes occur less than 5 in 100 flights.

This means that there is a small possiblity that a plane passenger will lose his or her life. This in effect is the reason why insurance companies charge small fees for your flight. This small insurance fee will give the passenger peace of mind when they are on the plane. You can sleep ( inflight) soundly, even to the point of snoring, because they know that if the plane crashes, the beneficiary, usually the wife, will be paid by the insurance company they enrolled in. The beneficiary will receive insurance money many times more than the amount of flight insurance fee paid before boarding the plane.

The insurance companies ask only a small flight insurance fee as compared to the money the beneficiary will recieve when the plane crashes because they know that less than one plane flight crash occurs out of a hundred plane flights. Do you think this statistical data of 1 flight crash out of a 100 flights and the small insurance amount as compared to the amount of cash the beneficiary will receive, in case the crash occurs, will be fair statistics to the plane passenger? well, most people will say, including myself, that a person's life should not be gambled with.

People get flight insurance not to gamble with their life but to ensure that in case the one out of a hundred crash does happen, the flight passenger's loved ones (wife and children) will have something (proceeds from the flight insurance companies) to get through the first few years without the flight passenger's financial support.
