Low cost or cheapflight companies are frequent in the world and they try to fly in any way in the stormy sky of international competition cutting all the possible of their costs; so, security is reduced to minimum, like comfort and facilities for passengers. Also insurance coverage is reduced to the minimum despite its costs frequently high.
So, the coverage for your physical security and your luggage in case of damages, stealing or loss is, in any case, never total and frequently shows many exceptions and ambiguities so that you must read VERY carefully the insurance conditions offered by the Company and, when it's the case, refuse them and stipulate another contract with a reliable insurance company you know, although you have to pay more, to get a better coverage.
Remember also that you should insure the case you can't take the airplane for serioius, unpredictable reasons and for flight cancelation or even sudden bankrupt of the flight company, not so rare.

In any case, remember that whatever insurance company will refund you only if you can show that the loss or damage you have reported is not due to your lack of attention, precautions or unsafe behaviour; so you should report every precious and/or delicate object carried in your luggage, making your part in protecting it.
So, for ex., don't carry with you flammable, toxic or corrosive liquids in not safe recipients, because the damage they would cause to your luggage in case of breaking and liquids loss would NOT be refunded, also when the rupture is caused by the company personnel during the loading/downloading of your luggage.
For the same reasons, don't store in your bags fragile precious objects, bought during your holiday, without a good protecting box able to challenge successfully the check of the insurance inspectors, otherwise, no refunding.
