Cheddar Biscuit Bites
These savory cheese cookies are the perfect finger food for the whole family. Not only do they make great appetizers on their own, but they're also very versatile. They taste great paired with cold cuts and a little spicy mustard. Kids will love making them into fun shapes for parties like the shape of footballs for a Super Bowl party or stars for the Fourth of July. If you have any left over, make little sandwiches with sausage patties for a hearty breakfast starter.
Yield: approximately 16 2"x2" square biscuits.
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 cups grated cheddar cheese
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 - 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat oven to 375F. In a large bowl, combine the Worcestershire sauce, butter and cheddar cheese. Use mixer until well blended. Mix in flour, salt, garlic powder and cayenne pepper. Combine until dough forms. I like to use my hands to get it mixed thoroughly.
Roll out dough into sheet approximately 1/4" thick. Cut into desired shapes and lay on non-stick baking sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes until lightly browned. Cool completely on wire rack. Store in airtight container.
