Assessing whether real men cry

While it is very true that men are not as likely to outwardly cry as do women, some are prone to be moved to tears on occasion.

My Pastor frequently sheds a tear or comes very close to doing so many times as he Preaches. At times the tears are over a situation that someone else may be finding themselves in and he feels helpless. Some of the time it is just his emotional makeup.

I have even at times felt that he may be carrying around with him, some pain from a past experience, none the less this has not made him less real or less of a man.

Listening to the woes of many who call upon his shepherding most have it's toll taking on him. Looking about and seeing what he sees that is given him by our God may cause him much grief I know that it does for me.

In my estimation, there was never more of a real man than Jesus the Christ. Here he is on this earth come to save His own knowing that they will put Him to death. He goes to Jerusalem to a man who has died and the shortest verse in the Bible is, JOHN 11:35 Jesus Wept. He wept because He loved him and was moved to the heart by the death and the tears of His friends.

Many men of the Bible wept but this in no way reduced their male stature. Jeremiah was known as the weeping prophet yet God did no think him less a man than any other for He used his to warn the people of their sins. His prophetic words told of future events and all have come to fruition up to now.

Personally, I find it very sweet when a man cries and not at all belittling. What has this to do with anything anyway?
