Locating high-IQ societies

by Jonte Rhodes

Created on: October 06, 2007

There are hundreds of high IQ societies in the world in many different countries, with a variety of entrance requirements and different goals as a group.
A lot of them are just general groups for the advancement of the most intelligent people of the world, but some are more specialized. For example there are poetic and artistic genius groups as well as literature ands science associated ones. There are those with no particular specialty that just require you to have a high IQ to enter.

The average intelligence of either sex is generally agreed to be around 100 IQ (intelligence quotient) points from any given IQ test. Someone who would be considered a genius would be someone with an IQ of 140 or over, and this is the passing level of a lot of these groups for membership.

As for locating them, a simple search on any Internet search engine will find you numerous groups for high intelligence. As with anything over the Internet you should avoid having to pay a fee to join before anything is seen in person to guarantee the validity of the group.

The largest and most famous of the general unspecialized groups is probably the multi national MENSA organization, but there are hundreds of similar groups out there if you need them. Most people who are geniuses are particularly good at one thing, and so finding a more specialized group might be the best thing to do if you have a certain interest or aptitude for something that others don't.

Specialized groups can easily be found as well, through university and college meeting groups to high intelligence school programs as well as the groups already mentioned.
