movie. Again they were gorgeous and some looked fairly easy to target. However, $3 later we had no toy - and this time I was really annoyed because I had good reason to feel my son had been cheated. Twice he had the claw right around the middle of one of those toys - and both times the claw dropped it just when we thought it was his. Then it made a futile grab at the toy's ear.
Unbeknown to me, when my husband called in to the mall later, he tried again twice for one of those toys. He only told me this morning that he agreed the "Ratatouille" toys are very hard to get.
If there are any Helium readers who have worked out how to beat "the claw" I would love to have your secrets. The girl I spoke to that time did tell me that some machines are easier than others. She told me there was a good one located near Target - but when we were there one day there were hardly any toys in it - maybe because so many kids were having success with it.
I have also noticed that it's best to avoid toys that are close to the edges. Too bad if the ones you want most are around the edges of the machine. We have also observed that it's best to try for toys that have parts that are easy to grip. Well I would have thought clamping a chubby rat around his middle would have been a sure thing. WRONG!
I looked on ebay but they didn't have any of those "Ratatouille" toys yet - so I wonder if other people are finding them very difficult to win as well. Anyway I'd rather be able to win one firsthand than have to buy somebody else's prize off ebay. Otherwise there's the postage cost as well.
I hope to find more articles from some conquerors of "the claw" in the near future.
