Before I get started, I would like everyone to know this is meant to be lighthearted.
Have you ever felt like everything in your life is happening all at once? "I have to paint my toenails, wash the dishes, vacuum the floor, scrub the tub, go to 5 meetings, run 10 meetings, teach this class, sit in on this one, help comfort my friend, hold my boyfriend's hand...all of this while I save the world!"
I know you have felt this. It's everyone's favorite past-time and feeling...STRESS!
Here are three things I've learned about stress as of lately:
1. When I am stressed, I come up with every excuse in the book not to do what I need to. This, of course, causes more stress!
2. When I am stressed, I don't sleep. (Hence why I am up at 1:30am writing this right now.) This causes frustration and crankiness...leading to, you guessed it, more stress!
3. When I am stressed, I eat more. So I gain weight on my already heavyset self. This causes me to worry more about my appearance and my health and my self-esteem...which causes, what?, more stress!
So what have I learned to do about this lovely S word?
Absolutely nothing. If you don't offer yourself to do anything, you can't become stressed. Therefore, you don't have to worry about not doing something you're supposed to be, you'll sleep like a baby, and you won't overeat (well at least not from stress anyway)!
But, then again, if you don't offer to do anything you'll be lonely (who wants to be friends with someone who doesn't help out), you'll be unemployed (no one wants a deadbeat employee), and how boring your life would be! And all of these things would, of course, cause stress!
What a vicious cycle!
