To me, that is an absolutely outrageous suggestion. First of all, what authority
would do the banning? I suppose a parent might insist that their child not appear
with their pants halfway down to their knees with their boxers exposed or a school
dress code might require that a student dress more appropriately but I don't think the government should interfere in civilian dress by trying to pass such regulations.
Of course, I am definitely the "older" generation - I don't find anything attractive
about seeing teenagers with their jeans hanging down to their knees and their boxers or buttocks exposed to the world - though I do admit I find the statue of David at the Accademia Gallery in Florence extremely beautiful.
Whether men or women dress this way, I don't find it especially appealing or sexy. It's just a trend, though, and, sooner or later, it will give way to another trend.
Something more daring or flamboyant will take its place and we will focus on that instead.
It seems to me that, the more people seem distressed by this dress style, the more likely those wearing it, continue to flaunt it. I draw the line when the boxers have holes in them and I am forced to look at portions of the anatomy that I would prefer to leave to the imagination.
