Keeping your older child busy while you are breast feeding is not a hard thing to do. If you think about it, you can come up with a 100 different things that they can do..Of course, it also depends on the age & interests of the child.

1. First of all before you sit down & start feeding, close the front & back doors. This is just to make sure your older child doesn't run outside when you are feeding. If your older one is old enough to understand that he/she should not go outside with parents' supervision and you should be fine.

2. The next thing is keeping your child busy. Depending on the child's age their attention span may be different.. So, you would obviously know what they like the most.

3. Kids are curious and they make ask questions. You hiding things from them will make them more curious. So, tell them that you baby is having its food just like they do. After a couple of times, they get so used to it & they stop asking questions about that.

4. Children love reading stories and even just looking at pictures in a colorful book. You can read to them, or have them sit next to you & see pictures.

5. Give them a coloring book or a plain paper & crayons and have them do their own art.

6. They can even watch their favorite cartoon or children's rhymes...All children enjoy music.

7. Children also enjoy building blocks. They can play with blocks for a long time building their own creations.

8. Children who are a little older can play puzzles..This keeps them busy for quite some time.

9. They also enjoy playing with play doh & finger painting.

10. If they are little, you can have them sit with a bowl of cheerios or fruit loops.. They not only enjoy eating it but also enjoy putting it down on the floor. But that's OK.. A little mess should be easy to clean up.

As your baby gets a little older and they start eating solids you don't have to breastfeed them that often. So, things will go smoothly.
